🧩 Service Delivery Options

The Olive Shoot offers both direct and indirect Occupational Therapy services to suit each child’s unique needs, personal circumstances, and therapy goals.

πŸ‘₯ Direct Service Delivery

Direct services are delivered face-to-face with the client in their natural environment to encourage meaningful participation and generalisation of skills. This may include:

  • The child’s home
  • Their school or early learning centre
  • Other relevant community settings

πŸ’» Indirect Service Delivery

Indirect services provide valuable support when face-to-face sessions are not possible or when additional collaboration is needed. These may include:

  • Telehealth sessions: Secure video calls with the client via a suitable online platform β€” ideal in cases of illness, transport challenges, or restricted school access (e.g., due to COVID-19 conditions).
  • Parent or educator consultations/coaching: Delivered face-to-face, over the phone, via video call, or by email to build confidence and consistency across environments.
  • Collaboration with other professionals: Coordinating with speech pathologists, psychologists, paediatricians, and other key support team members to ensure a holistic approach to care.
  • Development of resources: Creation of personalised home programs, visual aids, or activity guides to reinforce therapy goals at home and school.
  • NDIS reporting: Completion of reports, letters of support, or therapy plans, as required for NDIS reviews or planning.
  • Attendance at NDIS meetings: Providing clinical insight and advocacy to support the client’s ongoing therapy needs.
