How are services delivered?

Occupational Therapy services may be offered directly and/or indirectly, to suit the client's personal situation/ preferences/needs and therapy goals.

Direct service delivery will take place face-to-face with the client in his/her natural environment. This may comprise of their school, home or other relevant community settings. 

Indirect service delivery may include:

• Video calls with the client delivered on a secured and suitable online platform. This is particularly appropriate with the current Covid-19 conditions or in the case of illness, restricted access to school or transport difficulties.

• Consultations or coaching with the client's family or educational staff members. This may take place face-to-face or via phone calls, video-calls, or e-mails.

• Collaboration with external health professionals or key members involved in the client's care. This may occur face-to-face or via phone calls, video-calls or e-mails.

• Development of physical resources such as home-programs or visual aids to reinforce learnt concepts during therapy.

• Completion of NDIS reports or letters of support, as deemed appropriate.

• Attendance at NDIS meetings to offer clinical insight and advocate for the client's ongoing therapy needs.
